一文了解清明（The Qingming Festival）的历史

清明节，又被称为扫墓节，遥追历史可以追溯至2500年前。清明节是中国的传统节日，也是最重要的祭祖节日，每年农历清明节，人们按照习俗扫墓寒食。现代的清明节已经从单纯的祭祖，扩展到了表达人们对故去亲人的思念以及对生活热爱的寄托。虽然形式各异，但无不体现出对先人的敬仰之情和对生活的热爱。2008年，清明节被列入国家法定节假日。

The Qingming Festival, also known as Tomb-Sweeping Day. The history of the Qingming Festival can be traced back more than 2,500 years. Each year on the day of Qingming lunar calendar, people would celebrate the festival following the tradition of sweeping tombs and the cold food festival. It's a traditional Chinese festival and a day for ancestor worship. The modern Qingming Festival has extended from the original ancestor worship to express people's remembrance of their deceased loved ones and the embrace of life. They would burn joss paper designed like money, cars, and clothes, and also various items made from paper. People would go outing to hills and the nature, enjoying the cradle of the Qingming Festival.

清明节的气氛既庄重又欢快，因为这一庆祝活动不仅是对祖先的敬仰，也是欢庆春天的到来和大自然的美。在清明节，人们会挂上色彩鲜艳的风筝，有时还会在风筝的尾部挂上小灯笼，使夜晚的天空变得五光十色。寒食节是清明节前一两天的风俗，民间禁火做饭，只吃凉食，以此来纪念介子推的忠诚与节义。

During the Qingming Festival, people will hang up colorful kites, and sometimes small lanterns will be hung on the tail of the kite, making the night sky colorful. The Cold Food Festival is the custom of one or two days before the Qingming Festival, and the folk ban fire cooking and eat only cold food in memorial of Jie Zitui's loyalty and righteousness.
